WE HAVE BEEN COUNSELED TO TAKE 4 DAYS TO EXPLORE AFRICA EVERY 3 MONTHS. AFTER 1 YEAR WE DECIDED TO OBEY (A BIT SLOW). WHAT WISE COUNCIL.
WE LEFT LUSAKA AND FLEW TO MFUWE TO VISIT SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK. WE VISITED 4 BUSH CAMPS. DO NOT LET THE NAME FOOL YOU. IT WAS VERY NICE. WE DID HAVE SHOWERS OUTSIDE AND THERE WAS ONE CAMP WHERE THE TOILET WAS OUTSIDE BUT IT WAS WONDERFUL. FOOD TO DIE FOR AND VERY NICE SCOUTS AND GUIDES.
AT OUR 2ND CAMP CALLED CHINDENI. THERE WERE 60 DIFFERENT MAMMAL AND 400 DIFFERENT BIRDS. THE FIRST TWO CAMPS RUN SOUTH ALONG THE COURSE OF THE LUANGWA RIVER.
FOR OUR LAST TWO CAMPS WE MOVED TO THE NORTHERN PART OF THE RIVER. IT WAS A 5 HOUR RIDE IN OUR OPEN JEEP. IT WAS FABULOUS. WE LEFT AT 5AM AND SAW THE SUNRISE. WE SAW OUR FIRST LARGE MALE LIONS .
OUR FINAL CAMP WAS NSEFU LODGE. IT IS THE FIRST PRIVATE CAMP TO OPEN IN THE PARK. HERE WE SAW LIONESSES WITH BABIES AND LEOPARDS MATING.
WE WERE ABLE TO SHARE THIS EXPERIENCE WITH EMILY AND BETWEEN THE 3 OF US TOOK OVER 2500 PICTURES. I HAVE CHOSEN JUST A FEW TO SHARE WITH YOU.

Ooooooh.....What an experience! Those pictures are absolutely incredible. Um....you really want to come home to Enoch? No gators, no lions, no monkeys (wait, there is Jacob), no hippos....but then again there is a pair of some amazing jaw-dropping ponies. Oh, and the goats. They are so exotic. Ha! Loves!
